Characterising blood flow in haemoglobin image sequences

Researchers: Christoph Brune (University of Twente), Lukas Lang, Paul Meyer (previously Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge), Clarice Poon, Carola-Bibiane Schönlieb

In this project we investigate joint models for simultaneous blood flow estimation and vessel network segmentation in haemoglobin image sequences of the human eye. Our research aims to support clinical studies by allowing measurement of both blood circulation and vessel diameters in a clinical environment. This information is crucial for regulating blood flow during treatment of, for instance, cancer patients.
