The CMIH held its first user and industry engagement day on October 19th, at the Isaac Newton Centre in Cambridge.
The day bought together academics, industry specialists and leading clinicians to share knowledge and discuss issues relating to the mathematics of imaging in the healthcare field. The day comprised of talks from the centre’s postdocs, alongside collaborators and partners. This was followed by talks from some of the centre’s industrial partners, and industrial companies working in the field. The presentations then finished with views from the EPSRC on the five Maths in Healthcare centres, and perspectives and plans from the Imperial healthcare centre. The day finished with a poster reception, and networking.
The event was a huge success, with many participants commenting on the useful ability to meet with others and to cross boundaries between clinical work, research, and industry. Many new links were forged and we hope to see future collaborations and interesting work as a result.
