On Tuesday 6th November the CMIH co-hosted the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Clinical Imaging Research: Progress and Promise event. Held at The Alan Turing Institute, the event reviewed academic and policy developments in the fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning as applied in clinical imaging research.

The talks given during the conference focused on four key themes which formed the basis for the afternoon discussion session: data governance, multidisciplinary training, engaging industrial partners and developing a pipeline of studies in AI and ML. It was an engaging day, full of lively discussion and networking for all participants.

We were also delighted to host talks from each of the five centres of excellence that were announced by Business Secretary, Greg Clark MP. Each of the centres, based in Leeds, Oxford, Coventry, Glasgow and London, will work with partners across the UK and bring together clinicians, industry and academia to improve early diagnosis of disease through the use of AI.

The event was co-hosted with the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and delivered by the Turing Gateway for Mathematics. Details of the event, including the programme are available on the TGM website.
