CRUK Cambridge Institute are seeking a Scientific Research Assistant to join the light microscopy core facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a junior light microscopist to apply and develop their skills supporting advanced light microscopy at one of the premier cancer research institutes in Europe. The CI’s state-of-the-art imaging core facility hosts a broad range of imaging techniques including confocal microscopy, 2-photon/intra-vital microscopy, spinning disc and light-sheet microscopy, as well as super-resolution (STED) imaging and image analysis platforms.

The core responsibilities of the role will be to ensure that microscopes within the facility are well maintained and to train users to set up and use the microscopes correctly. The role holder will also be responsible for instrument QC, effective image data management within the facility as well as being involved in providing researchers with experimental design and image analysis support.
